-letter of present day
On receipt of your letter
I placed myself in communication with Government and have now received His Excellency, the Acting Governor's directions to instruct you to perform the services required by the Coroner.
Two inquests are to be held this afternoon on the bodies referred to in the police notices A&B herewith returned to you. In the case of that marked A, I do not think that medical evidence will be necessary, and in the case of that marked B, I intend, in view of the shortness of the time left for making a post-mortem examination, to content myself with viewing the body and will give orders for its burial this afternoon.
I am awaiting to hear from you that the post-mortem examination is completed.
Your obedient Servant
St. G. Mitchell-Innes
